Congress 1985 – 2025 “40 years of Local Regime Bases and local external control in Galicia”.

The Consello de Contas de Galicia, one of the three statutory bodies of Galicia, in this year 2025, forty years after the approval of Law 7/1985, of April 2, 1985, of Local Regime Bases and the Law of creation of the independent external control of Galicia -Law 6/1985, of June 23, 1985, of the Consello de Contas- has decided to promote a forum for dialogue and debate that brings together the representation of the Local Administration, in its multiple aspects and protagonists, to take stock and outline the pending challenges for the next generations of local public management.

Main Themes:

1. The debate on the distribution of competences in 2025.
2. The financing of a new Local Administration.
3. Collaborative management of services and the role of intermediate governments.
4. The challenges of local internal control: public auditing on the horizon.
5. Local external control and the role of collaboration.
6. Transformation of local public management: integrity, new tools and human capital.
