Attend a unique concert by James Rhodes, “the enfant terrible of classical music”. The British-born Spanish pianist, known for his charisma, talent and stand-up style on stage, offers an experience different from traditional recitals.
In his concerts, Rhodes interacts directly with the audience, talking about the works he performs, why he chose them and the context in which they were composed. He also shares his life story and how music, especially Bach, helped him overcome obstacles. He performs pieces by composers such as Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schubert and Beethoven.
James Rhodes is a classical music enthusiast who has become an important disseminator worldwide. His career took off in 2009, when his first manager encouraged him to record his first CD. Memoirs of music, medicine and madness’ and currently has his own program on La SER “En Clave De Rhodes”.
His particular style has allowed him to attract new audiences, performing in pop music festivals and unconventional venues as well as in major international concert halls: Koerner Hall Toronto, Elbphilhamonie Hamburg, The Queen Elizabeth Hall London, The Liceu Barcelona, Musikverein Vienna, Teatro Real Madrid, The Barbican London and many more from Australia to Hong Kong.
